Nothing Goes To Weather Like a Delivery Crew

I finally finished my new book about offshore sailing.  It’s the story of our delivery last year from Auckland to Seattle.  My brother and I did a non stop 5 day delivery and this book details day to day life at sea on a long passage and includes lots of photos.

The book discusses many facets of passage making such as provisioning, fishing and weather routing.

Every Sailor needs to watch this – Census of the Ocean

This is a really great Ted talk titled ” Census of the Ocean” that’s very relevant for all sailors. If you care about sailing, sashimi, and our oceans watch this video. It’s very interesting, eye opening and has some great visuals.

Alex Thomson Keel Walking

Here’s a really great video of Alex Thomson keel walking while the boat is sailing.  The captain heels the monohull sailboat over far enough that the keel is held out of the water so Alex can stand on the keel.  Very cool stunt.
